I was born in Plymouth, England, but moved to Africa when I was three. It was there that my love of adventure and the natural world was sparked, though I got into so many ‘adventurous’ scrapes as a child that it’s a wonder I’m still here to tell the tale!

I’m a qualified journalist formerly of The Independent and Sky Sports, but now live a more relaxed life in sleepy Somerset with my wife and two boys. Along with writing, my other great loves are Plymouth Argyle FC and long summer days watching my sons play cricket in sun-baked Somerset fields.
